LIVINGSTON, Calif. — Foster Farms recently celebrated its 75th anniversary and used the occasion to report on the company's $75 million effort to reduce salmonella.
Most recent 10-week data, shared with both the USDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), indicated a salmonella parts level of approximately 2 percent, significantly less than the USDA reported 2011/2012 industry benchmark of 25 percent.
