Funding gap stalls food safety centers of excellence

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Federal funding shortfalls have stalled the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) progress on establishing five centers of excellence that were included in the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), according to a report from the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy at the University of Minnesota.
