Ready-to-eat chicken recall expanded
WASHINGTON -- Pilgrim's Pride Corp. in Mount Pleasant, Texas, has expanding its recall of ready-to-eat chicken products by an additional 7,072 pounds, USDA's Food Safety & Inspection Service has announced. The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The initial recall was issued on July 20, 2011.
Products being recalled are 16-pound boxes containing eight 2-pound bags of "Pilgrim's Pride Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Breaded Nugget Shaped Patties with rib meat." The patties have a date code of 11531010 inkjetted on the box, best-by date "JUN. . .
