WASHINGTON — Darci L. Vetter has been confirmed by the Senate as the chief agricultural negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
President Obama nominated Vetter in January, citing her experience in numerous agriculture, trade and diplomatic positions in several branches of the federal government.
U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman welcomed Vetter's Senate vote.
"American farmers and ranchers are central to our effort to support jobs across the United States by selling more Made-in-America good and services to the world," said Froman. "Darci's expertise and experience will make her a formidable advocate for. . .
