Oklahoma Supreme Court overturns $10M Tyson verdict

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Supreme Court has overturned a $10 million jury verdict against Tyson Foods Inc. in a lawsuit brought by poultry producers in McCurtain County who claimed the company treated them unfairly.

The high court ruled March 6 that jurors engaged in misconduct and that the growers' complaints weren't covered by the state's Consumer Protection Act.

The 11 growers claimed that Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson treated favored growers better than others and said the company supplied them with inferior feed and chicks.

Tyson denied the allegations and claimed on appeal there. . .
