WASHINGTON — U.S. egg farmers, led by United Egg Producers (UEP), the industry’s policy trade association, convened on Capitol Hill this week to meet with U.S. House and Senate agriculture leaders, members of Congress, USDA and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials. They were advocating for urgent, decisive measures to address ongoing industry issues, most notably the current outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
