WASHINGTON — After pulling a literal “all-nighter,” the U.S. House of Representatives on May 22 passed H.R. 1, also known as “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” After passing by a single vote, 215 to 214, the bill, which contains a lot of taxation legislation, is being touted by some and disparaged by others, following almost straight along party lines.
Passed by the House just before the Memorial Day holiday recess, the bill now moves to the U.S. Senate where legislators are hoping for a final vote before the July 4 holiday.
