SALISBURY, Md. — The Delmarva Poultry Industry Inc. recently awarded Charlie Carpenter of Somerset County, Md. with DPI's highest honor, the J. Frank Gordy Sr. Delmarva Distinguished Citizen Award.
DPI also honored three others with a DPI Medal of Achievement and recognized 12 outstanding chicken growers during the DPI's annual Booster Banquet.
Carpenter began work with Perdue Farms right after college and has been with the company 43 years in a variety of positions.
