Bipartisan Senate bill would lift Cuba trade ban

WASHINGTON — A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers has introduced legislation to lift the Cuba trade embargo.

The bipartisan bill —  The Freedom to Export to Cuba Act — is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)  ,Mike Enzi (R-Wy.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.).

The legislation would eliminate the legal barriers to Americans doing business in Cuba. It would pave the way for new economic opportunities for American businesses and farmers by boosting U.S. exports and allow Cubans greater access to American goods.
