GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza continue to plague countries round the world, resulting in both poultry and human deaths.
In Taiwan, more than 16,000 chickens on a farm in Chutang Township, Changhua, were culled March 12 due to an outbreak of the H5 subtype of the AI virus.
All 16,880 chickens on the farm were culled and the premises disinfected to prevent spread of the disease.
Taiwan also reported that an H5N8 outbreak was detected Feb. 23 on a farm housing 20. . .
