SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Wes Morris, with more than 20 years of experience with Tyson Foods, has recently been appointed the company’s new chief operating officer, with duties overseeing the Chicken, Beef, Pork, Prepared Foods and International segments.

Having served previously as Tyson’s president of its Poultry and Prepared Foods businesses, Morris begins as COO as of June 15, following the retirement of the Devin Cole.

“I’m excited to return at this pivotal moment,” Morris said in the announcement. “We have a strong foundation in place, and I’m committed to operational discipline as the company continues to advance its strategic priorities and execute its growth plan.”
“Wes Morris has a proven track record of executing against operational priorities across key segments of our business,” Jeff Schomburger, Tyson Foods incoming president and CEO, said. “His deep understanding of our operations will be critical as we continue to strengthen performance across the enterprise.”
Looking ahead, Schomburger added that, “we remain focused on executing our strategy with discipline and have the right resources and people to win.”
