WASHINGTON — The USDA announces that it will be investing $121 million into research and development endeavors that help solve key issues that specialty crop and organic agriculture producers are confronting. Of this investment, $70.4 million will be given to specialty crop production research and $50.5 million will be given to producers who grow and sell high-quality organic food, fiber and organic products.
“Specialty crops are defined in the Farm Bill as fruits and vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, and horticulture and nursery crops, including floriculture,” USDA said. This investment is part of the National Institute. . .
