TUCKER, Ga. — A research project at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., has identified important energy costs savings in poultry processing.
The project, funded by the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the USPOULTRY Foundation, is part of the association’s comprehensive research program encompassing all phases of poultry and egg production and processing.
The research project — Energy Balance Analysis of a Poultry Processing Plant — led by Dr. Yi Liang and a group of co-investigators, made a detailed analysis of the electrical and natural gas usage of each operation and process within the plant over a period. . .
