Poultry waste to energy system studied

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota has announced that it is leading a project, in partnership with DenYon Energy LLC and the U.S. Department of Energy, to perform testing in an advanced fixed-bed gasifier (AFBG) to convert poultry waste to energy and other value-added products. The proprietary technology has been licensed by the EERC Foundation to DenYon Energy for commercialization in the poultry industry.

The EERC will run several weeks of pilot-scale tests to determine the efficiency and performance of the system using poultry litter. . .
