OSHA proposes $140,000 fines for MVP Kosher Foods

BIRDSBORO, Pa. — The Labor Department's Occupational Safety & Health Administration is proposing $140,000 in penalties against MVP Kosher Foods LLC for 21 safety and health violations at its Birdsboro facilities.

That facility, however, was abruptly closed without notice this summer and its 400 employees suddenly laid off.

The violations include two repeat violations which carry $65,000 in penalties. The penalties include failing to provide the proper guards for a ladder way and platforms. The company was cited for this same violation in 2010.

Fifteen serious violations carry $74,000 in penalties. Also cities are four other-than. . .
