ATLANTA — During its recent Annual Protein Convention & Showcase in Atlanta, Ga., the National Protein and Food Distributors Association presented Jim Perdue, chairman of Perdue Farms, with its Protein Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.
Perdue is a third-generation leader of the privately held Perdue Farms, based in Salisbury, Md. He grew up in the family business and learned the importance of customer satisfaction and quality products, the association noted.
After obtaining a master’s degree and a doctorate, Perdue returned to the company in 1983 and worked his way up the ranks. He became chairman and CEO in 1991.
