Idaho working on poultry farm rules

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Agriculture has until the end of the month to finish a draft of rules on how large-scale poultry operations can affect the state's groundwater supply.

But state regulators and outside industry groups are still a long way from agreeing on what the standards should be.

Earlier this year the Idaho Legislature transferred the authority to inspect and regulate poultry farms to the agriculture department from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
