MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Chad and Shannon Federer, along with their children, Savannah and Ty, were introduced as the 2014 Alabama Poultry Farm Family of the Year at the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association's recent "Evening of Fun" celebration in Birmingham, Ala.
The Federers are from Holly Pond, Ala., and grow for Koch Foods of Gadsden.
The Federers began growing for Gold Kist in 2006, after having built two 40-feet by 465-feet pullet houses. In 2007, after Gold Kist was sold to Pilgrim's, they switched to Koch Foods-Gadsden Division. A year later they opened two breeder houses. . .
