WASHINGTON — The American Farmland Trust has announced that the Farmland, Food and Livable Communities Conference will be held Oct. 20-22 in Lexington.
The conference will bring together experts from around the country for the first nationwide conference focused on farming, land use and food policy.
"Nationally, we have been losing one acre of farmland every minute to other uses," said Andrew McElwaine, president and CEO of AFT. "With some of the most productive farmland in the world, the United States must be part of the solution to hunger here at home and around the world, and to do that. . .
