GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Outbreaks of avian influenza continue to plague the poultry industry throughout the world.
China, Vietnam, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria are among the nations that have seen increased incidences of highly pathogenic avian influenza, according to an Aug. 24 update from the U.S. Geologic Survey's National Wildlife Health Center citing the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
In China, highly pathogenic H5N6 was reported in the city of Qingyuan in the Guangdong Province where a total of 1,350 birds died. . .
