ATA urges Congress to do more to develop and protect trucking’s workforce

WASHINGTON — The American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear recently told a House committee that Congress must do more to help the trucking industry develop and retain the workforce needed to meet the freight demands of a growing country and economy.

“Over the next decade, trucks will be tasked with moving 2.4 billion more tons of freight than they do today. For that to happen, we must continue to put safety and our workforce first.
