Arkansas 4-H Poultry Chain project gives youth an introduction into the poultry industry

LONOKE, Ark. — More than 2,000 youth in Arkansas recently received pullets as part of the 4-H Poultry Chain project.

“This year 36,000 birds were sent out to over 2,000 youth across Arkansas,” Andrew Bolton, poultry youth programs instructor, said. “I would love to see those numbers continue to climb.”

Youth involved with 4-H and FFA across the state get a set of 15-to-18-day-old pullets in April. The goal is to raise the birds from April until the fair season in the fall, at. . .
