APHIS plan prepares for future HPAI

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The U.S. hasn't seen a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza since the last report in June, but USDA is preparing for a potential reoccurrence of the disease in case it reappears in the fall.

USDA's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service has issued a report on planning and preparation for HPAI in advance of a potential reoccurrence of the disease when birds begin to migrate south.
