WASHINGTON — Alfred V. Almanza has been named deputy undersecretary for food safety in the USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service's Office of Food Safety.
Almanza has served as administrator of FSIS since 2007.
He began his FSIS career as a food inspector from 1976-1984, and has held a number of positions with the agency, including as a district manager from 2004-2007. . .
