AdvancePierre to close plant, affecting 300 jobs

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — AdvancePierre Foods plans to close its Orange City, Iowa, meat processing plant by the end of the year, eliminating an estimated 300 jobs.

Mayor Les Douma says the plant manager told him about the closing late Tuesday, May 1.

Douma says the plant has "a great economic impact on the entire region."

All production from the plant — which is mainly cooked chicken products for Fast Fixin’ and Fast Classic brands — is expected to be moved to facilities in Oklahoma and Cincinnati. . .
