Wastewater training addresses treatment of poultry effluent

TUCKER, Ga. — The proper treatment of poultry effluent will be addressed at the Poultry Wastewater Operators Training Program to be held May 23-24 at the Tyson Food’s training facility in Oxford, Ala.

The program is sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, and the training will be led by Paul Bredwell, vice president of environmental programs for USPOULTRY.

The program is designed to introduce students to the regulatory structure governing poultry plant effluents, as well as provide a primer in math, chemistry and microbiology. Topics will include the predominant equipment, systems and processes used to properly treat. . .
