Ventilation shutdown seen as a tool in AI fight

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Rapid depopulation of flocks infected with avian influenza is necessary to prevent the spread of the disease and ventilation shutdown is seen as a means to attain this, according to a USDA directive.

Information on APHIS' views on ventilation shutdown is contained in USDA's Animal Plant & Health Inspection Service recently released "Fall 2015 HPAI Influenza Preparedness and Response Plan."
