USDA’s organic rule delayed by Trump administration

The USDA’s organic rule is being delayed for six months by the Trump administration. The rule would have required stricter regulations for poultry and livestock that are labeled organic.

The administration said that the rule needed to be delayed until Nov. 14 to review the “significant policy and legal issues” of the rule.

The rule was announced two days before President Barack Obama left office. It would improve animal welfare conditions only for animals labeled Certified Organic or USDA Organic. . .
