GAINESVILLE, Ga. — USDA's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service has awarded contracts to two drug companies to manufacture doses of avian influenza vaccine in preparation of the possible return of the deadly bird flu that decimated U.S. turkey and egg flocks earlier this year.
The contracts were awarded to Iowa-based Harrisvaccines and to France-based Ceva Animal Health.
USDA stated that while the action is being taken to develop the agency's National Veterinary Stockpile. . .
