ATHENS, Ga. — The 2017 Deep South Poultry Conference will be held March 22 at the Tifton (Ga.) Campus Conference Center of the University of Georgia.
General session topics include a disease update, the effects of vaccine programs on birds and mortality management during a disease outbreak.
The conference will also have concurrent sessions dealing with the broiler and breeder sections of the industry.
Broiler topics include ventilation and moisture control. the potential impact of replacing broilers with slower growing strains, managing gut integrity, management between flocks for good air and litter quality and a research update on sprinkler systems and catching/live haul impacts.
Breeder topics involve house equipment, shell quality assessment, pullet uniformity and impact on egg production, and rooster management and feeding.
