WASHINGTON – After much anticipation, President Donald Trump has announced an executive order that will enact reciprocal tariffs on foreign imports.
The president explained the percentages of these “half reciprocal tariffs” are based on a country’s current import tariffs on American goods. Some examples include a 34% tariff on Chinese goods, 20% tariff on goods from the European Union, and a 26% tariff on goods from India- compared to those countries’ 67%, 39%, and 52% tariffs on American goods, respectively.
