TPP trade pact signed by 12 nations

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The Trans-Pacific Partnership took another step closer to being a working arrangement when representatives of the 12 participating member nations signed the agreement.

The signing, held Feb. 4 in New Zealand, concludes more than five years of negotiations on the free trade deal. U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman signed  for the United States.

Other nations include Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.
