MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Midwest Poultry Federation will be hosting a Student Careers Program, a new event at this year’s MPF Convention on March 15, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
The primary focus of the program is two-fold: to connect the poultry industry with a focused talent pool and educate students on career opportunities in the industry.
The SCP will provide a professional setting for two- and four-year college students to connect with industry professionals in a day-long event featuring a poultry industry overview, career panel, speed dating and time on the trade show floor. Sponsors have ample opportunity to meet with and interview qualified students for poultry specific internships/permanent positions, the federation noted.
“We are excited to provide an opportunity for companies to seek out talented poultry-minded students,” said Steve Olson, executive director of the Midwest Poultry Federation. “We know companies and farm businesses are actively looking for employees and our goal is to make this an annual event. This event embraces the current and future professionals of the poultry industry and offers both learning opportunities and networking.”
The program is included in the sponsorship fee for the MPF Convention paid sponsors at the Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver levels. A second option for companies to be involved is a $1,000 a la carte option. More information can be obtained at http://midwestpoultry.com/wp-content/uploads/2018-Sponsorship-Opportunities.pdf.
The event is free for students.
