Rose Acre Farms reports Indiana farm positive for bird flu

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Furthering the devastating impact that highly pathogenic avian influenza has had on the nation’s egg-laying flocks, Rose Acre Farms, the second largest egg producer in the U.S., has reported a positive flock at its Cort Acre Egg Farm site in Seymour, Ind.

The company reported on X (formerly Twitter) that it started noticing mortality during the weekend of Jan. 25 and samples were quickly sent for testing that returned positive for HPAI. This outbreak with Rose Acre involves approximately 2.8 million egg-laying hens.
