Poultry and pork products recalled due to lack of inspection

WASHINGTON — Transatlantic Foods Inc., a New York company, is recalling approximately 222,000 pounds of pork and poultry products that did not receive the full benefit of inspection, USDA's Food Safety & Inspection Service has announced.

Transatlantic Foods, Inc. operates two establishments — one in Scranton, Pa., and one in Andover, N.J. This recall is being issued because the Andover, N.J., establishment had not been issued a FSIS Grant of Inspection. Without the Grant of Inspection, FSIS inspection program personnel were not assigned to the establishment. However, the Andover, N.J., establishment was producing product and using labels. . .
