Ohio poultry farmers take action to prevent cockfighting in the state

COLUMBUS, Ohio — For poultry farmers, animal welfare policies are essential. What is of equal importance is that, to the public, we are consistent and aligned in our positions on every aspect of animal care — not just the ones that are relevant to our farms. In Ohio, cockfighting is one of those positions on which Ohio producers needed to act.

Ohio took an important step forward in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in the state with the passage of Ohio House Bill 215 in the Ohio House of Representatives. . .
