NPFDA inducts new officers and board members at annual convention

ATLANTA — The National Protein and Food Distributors Association Board of Directors met recently during the group’s annual convention in Atlanta, Ga., and selected its new officers and board members.

Judson (Jud) Guest, executive vice president at LAD Truck Lines Inc., in Watkinsville, Ga., succeeds Jeff Paschall, vice president of sales and marketing at Fieldale Farms/Springer Mountain Farms in Baldwin, Ga., as chairperson of NPFDA.

Laurie Pate, president at Foodlinx Inc., in Brentwood, Calif., moves into the vice chair role after serving as treasurer. Newly elected to the NPFDA Executive Committee is Chan Windham as treasurer. He is director of commodity sales at House of Raeford Farms in Greenville, S.C. Paschall will remain on the board as immediate past chair.

As chair, Guest will lead the Board of Directors, which sets policy and provides direction to NPFDA’s overall mission.

NPFDA is governed by an Executive Committee and Board of Directors consisting of industry professionals from around the country representing protein companies, distributors, processing companies and other allied industries. The board oversees the direction of the organization and collaborates directly with the staff to guide its continued growth.

Returning board members are Barry Moose, Koch Foods; Charlene Keller, Choptank Transport; Dan Forgacs, APPI; Dave Bayer, Peco Foods; Doug Nielsen, Turkey Valley Farms; Fernando Puentes, HPL Logistics; Greg Morgan, Quirch Foods; Jamie Doherty, Pilgrims; Kevin Grindle, Mar-Jac Poultry; Lee Neal, Global 888 Supply Chain Solutions; Mark Schultz, Flexcold; R.E. Butts, Butts Foods; Rick Trenary, Perdue; Russ Whitman, Urner Barry Publications; and Tim Rathert, Quaker Valley Foods.

Newly appointed board members are Ada Brewster, Bay and Bay; Chris Sharp, Kelly’s Foods; Justin Monfredini, PacAgri Foods; and Mitch Mitchell, Holmes Foods.

Outgoing board members are Tammy Vige, PacAgri Foods; Ben Medearis, Americold; Amit Morey, Auburn University Department of Poultry Science; Don Poulin, Golbon; Nathan Pence, Wholesome Companies; and Wayne Shuler, Shuler Meats.
