RED SPRINGS, N.C. — Mountaire Farms, in an inaugural event on March 31 named Easter for Thousands in N.C., donated 1,100 boxes of food to be distributed by local churches and organizations.

The boxes, with enough food to feed Easter dinner to a family of four, included a chicken roaster, mixed vegetables, corn, applesauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a brownie mix.

Mountaire Farms partnered with 28 local churches and organizations for the donation event that was held at the John M. McNeill Farmers Market in Red Springs.

Jarrod Lowery, community relations manager at Mountaire, told the local media that events like this, as well as its annual Thanksgiving for Thousands and Christmas for Thousands events, are part of the company’s goal of giving to families in need.

“Mountaire Farms believes in continuous outreach to the community,” Lowery said. “Adding Easter for Thousands as an annual event is another opportunity to partner with churches and civic organizations to make sure the needs of our community are met, that is what MountaireCares is all about.”
