Misbranding causes small chicken product recall

WASHINGTON — Food Evolution LLC. of Schiller Park, Ill., is recalling approximately 150 pounds of Mediterranean-style chicken cous cous salad products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, USDA’s Food Safety & Inspection Service has announced. The product contains tree nuts, specifically pecans, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

Recalled products are 12.01-ounce clear plastic containers containing “Mediterranean Style Cous Cous Salad with Sweet Basil Dressing, Distributed by Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc.”

The products have establishment number “P-34309” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to Roundy’s Supermarket in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered by Roundy’s Supermarkets.
