Mar-Jac buys Marshall Durbin company

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Mar-Jac Poultry of Gainesville has acquired Marshall Durbin, a vertically-integrated poultry company based in Alabama.

A press release from the company stated: "Effective Jan. 25, 2014, Mar-Jac Holdings Inc. of Gainesville, Ga., has acquired the assets of Marshall-Durbin Companies of Irondale, Ala. The Mar-Jac management team expects a smooth transition with no disruption of operations."

Marshall Durbin assets include processing plants in Hattisburg, Miss., and Jasper, Ala.; feed mills in Haleyville, Ala., and Waynesboro, Miss.; hatcheries in Moulton, Ala., and Waynesboro, Miss.; a laboratory in Jackson, Miss.; and a distribution center in Tarrant. . .
