Keep farms safe by deterring wild birds

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — While there have been no new reports of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the Midwest since the beginning of the summer, farms should improve biosecurity measures to protect their farms.

Since December 2014, the USDA’s Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service has confirmed more than 200 cases of avian influenza in commercial and backyard poultry, as well as wild migratory birds.
