GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Turkeys have tested positive for the H7N8 strain of avian influenza on 10 Indiana farms in Dubois County.
These latest outbreaks, reported Jan. 16, involve a strain different from the H5N2 strain that last year led to the deaths of about 48 million turkeys and chickens.
Turkeys on the farms have been euthanized to help prevent spread of the disease. A quarantine area set up around the first Dubois farm to be infected has been expanded to four neighboring counties — Martin, Orange, Crawford and Daviess. . .
