KENDALLVILLE, Ind. — Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch recently celebrated its new egg processing plant in Kendallville, Ind., which will start business this month. The company originally announced the construction of the plant in December 2025.

Company officials and local leaders gathered at the site for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 12, marking the conclusion of construction on the 75,000-square-foot plant on Weston Avenue, Herbruck’s said in a statement. The plant will process millions of locally sourced farm eggs for distribution directly to consumers.

“Our Kendallville plant will have a positive impact on the community through our company’s investment, the jobs we’re creating and our commitment to community involvement,” Stephanie Kempa, Herbruck’s chief human resources officer, said. “We are grateful to the city of Kendallville and state of Indiana for welcoming Herbruck’s to the community and look forward to an amazing partnership for the benefit of the entire region.”

The Kendallville location will increase Herbruck’s egg processing capacity to meet consumer demand and allow for Indiana eggs to be processed locally. The plant will create 60 jobs and result in a $20 million economic investment in the Kendallville community and greater region, the company noted.

It’s because of this boost to the economy that Herbruck’s received Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credits from the State of Indiana.

“Our economy is healthier, and we all benefit when we have local companies with amazing values creating job opportunities and generating economic activity,” Nikole Albright, executive director of the Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce, said. “Herbruck’s egg processing plant is a big boost to our local business community and economy.”

The company is still in the process of hiring workers for positions at the plant, all of which come with premium healthcare and access to free telehealth services, excellent benefits, and opportunities for learning, development, and advancement, Herbruck’s added.

Herbruck’s is a fourth-generation family business, so family and community mean a lot to them. That is why, in every community they serve, Herbruck’s focuses on being a good neighbor and donating eggs, funds and supplies to local organizations, food banks, and families, the company noted in its announcement.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony also served as an introduction to Todd Fowler, the Kendallville plant manager and longtime Indiana resident, Herbruck’s added.

“Herbruck’s values have led to the success and growth of the company for nearly seven decades; that’s why I was interested in working here,” Fowler said. “I look forward to helping our crew members expand their skills, connect with their community and be part of a team that provides high-quality Herbruck’s eggs to consumers.”
