GAINESVILLE, Ga. — B Entertainment announced business plan negotiations with the City of Gainesville to build a campus that will feature a new live music venue, an event venue and a Bourbon Brothers Smokehouse and Tavern near the downtown square.

“We believe this is the right time to proceed with upgrades to Poultry Park that will allow more people to visit the monument and gain a better sense of the role the poultry industry has played in Gainesville’s history,” said Mike Giles, Georgia Poultry Federation president. “We’re pleased that Poultry Park will be a part of this exciting new development. As Gainesville’s entertainment options continue to grow in the years to come so will the poultry industry that has been so important to Gainesville’s economy for decades.”

In conjunction with this investment, the city has plans to renovate the historic Poultry Park, which is located across from the area slated for upgrading.

The City of Gainesville also has been in discussions with the Georgia Poultry Federation for several months about additions to Poultry Park, including parking for those visiting the park’s monument and as support of the new venues.

“The Georgia Poultry Federation is proud of Poultry Park and the monument that shows that Gainesville is the ‘Poultry Capital of the World,’” said Abit Massey, president emeritus of the Georgia Poultry Federation. “Mike Giles and I are excited that the monument with chicken on top will be moved closer to the street where it will be even more visible and that parking will be available on the site as Gainesville continues to grow.”

City Manager Bryan Lackey added: “We believe the development of the Bourbon Brothers restaurant and music venue adds a sense of vitality to the western side of downtown with a world-class facility that will draw thousands of visitors to Gainesville each year. We felt it was the right time to seize upon the implementation of our place-making efforts for Poultry Park.”
