WASHINGTON — USDA' Food & Safety Inspection Service is conducting the eighth annual Food Defense Plan Survey through the month of August.
The survey will gather data about industry’s voluntary adoption of food defense plans.
Food defense plans are voluntary (i.e., not mandated by regulation); however, FSIS considers such plans to be an important tool that can reduce the risk of intentional adulteration of food products.
The questions in the food defense plan survey will determine whether official meat and poultry slaughter and processing establishments, egg product plants and official import inspection establishments have a food defense. . .
