Frozen chicken products recalled due to misbranding

WASHINGTON — George’s Inc. of Springdale, Ark., is recalling approximately 1.25 million pounds of frozen par-fried chicken tender products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen, USDA’s Food Safety & Inspection Service announced.  The products are formulated with wheat, a known allergen, which was not properly declared on the labels.

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “P-13584” under the USDA Mark of Inspection and were sold to wholesale locations for distribution to institutional users nationwide.
