WASHINGTON — Three U.S. food associations have petitioned the Food & Drug Administration to reverse or modify a policy that "forces broiler chicken producers to destroy perfectly acceptable and safe shell eggs."
The petition was presented by the National Chicken Council, the Grocery Manufacturers Association and the Association for Dressings and Sauces.
