MODESTO, Calif. — The California Poultry Federation has presented its highest honor, the Golden Rooster Award, to Michelle Ganci of California State University-Fresno.
The award, presented during the recent annual conference, recognizes an individual who has made major contributions to the industry.
Ganci has taught animal science classes at the junior college level and in 2005, started a concurrent poultry production program at Fresno State. She was also instrumental in bringing a Foster Farms Poultry Education and Research Facility to the campus in March 2013.
The federation also presented its Pioneer and Allied Member of the Year Awards and elected. . .
