PRINCETON, N.J. — Church & Dwight Co. Inc., the parent company of Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production, has announced that it has acquired Passport Food Safety Solutions Inc. of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Passport Food Safety Solutions is a provider of a systems approach to help meat and poultry processors consistently address food safety standards. The acquisition became effective on March 8, 2018.

With this integration, Arm & Hammer notes that it becomes a worldwide leader in providing the most comprehensive portfolio of nutritional, microbial and pre- and post-harvest food safety solutions to optimize the health of production livestock and reduce the risk of common pathogens, while reducing the incidence of pathogens in animal protein products.

“We are very excited about this integration because it further supports our long-term plan to grow, evolve and diversify our business through industry-leading advancements in animal agricultural productivity and food safety,” said Scott Druker, general manager of Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production.

“We are now able to offer deep expertise in food safety innovations, technologies and services to our customers,” Druker added. “For Passport Food Safety Solutions, the acquisition provides the established Arm & Hammer brand and the considerable resources of a reputable, trusted global corporation in Church & Dwight Co. Inc.”

“Our mission has always been to create sustainable food safety solutions that create value for our customers,” said Tom Nicholson, CEO of Passport Food Safety Solutions. “This integration is consistent with that mission and will help to accelerate our growth by providing Passport with access to new geographies and novel technologies. It’s a significant milestone for us and we’re very excited to become part of Arm & Hammer.”

“The combined entities will have the most comprehensive portfolio of products to meet the growing needs of agricultural producers worldwide,” Druker said. “This is a good fit because Arm & Hammer and Passport Food Safety Solutions share common core values: strong relationships with customers and partners; deep commitment to employee development; dedication to research and innovation; environmental stewardship; and a commitment to helping provide a safe and affordable food supply.”
