MILFORD, Ind. — Chore-Time, a manufacturer of poultry, egg, feed, drinking, climate and house management systems for almost 75 years, has officially broken ground for what will be a 79,000-square-feet expansion of its manufacturing and office operations at its company headquarters in Milford, Ind.
The company notes that this addition, joining original office and manufacturing space dating back to the establishment of the company in 1952, is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2027. This recent ceremony was held June 10.
“This expansion is a direct result of continued growth and increased demand across our markets — and the strength of our distributor partnerships,” Tina Streit, Chore-Time vice president and general manager, said in the announcement.
“Plans include a dedicated shipping space for the layer building, staging space for the broiler side, and additional manufacturing space,” Streit added. “Groundbreaking took place in April, with the goal occupancy date in early 2027. With the additional space, we will be better able to reduce lead times and significantly improve our logistics.”
Chore-Time added that this new expansion project was made possible through funding from a 10-year tax abatement granted by the Milford Town Council and the Milford Redevelopment Commission, as well as additional support from the Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO).
“This is a company that believes in Milford,” Peggy Simmons, KEDCO chief executive officer, said. “This is a meaningful investment in manufacturing capacity, efficiency and long-term growth here in Milford.”
The R. Yoder Construction company, of Nappanee, Ind., is the general contractor for Chore-Time’s new expansion work.
“This groundbreaking represents more than the start of construction; it reflects the power of collaboration and what can be achieved when a dedicated team comes together around a common goal,” Kevin Yoder, R. Yoder Construction vice president of sales, also said in the announcement. “We are grateful for the trust of CTB and it is an honor to play a role in delivering a manufacturing facility that will support innovation, strengthen the local economy, and create lasting opportunities for years to come.”
Chore-Time, which operates facilities in Indiana, Alabama, the Netherlands and Poland, is a part of CTB Inc.
